Passing The Mic To Our Interns: Inside MRPR

Interns blog

Internships provide young professionals with valuable insight into the business world beyond the classroom. Today’s interns seek inclusive environments and meaningful, hands-on experience. They’re not just here to take notes or fetch coffee—they’re here to learn and grow.

That’s why we’ve designed our internship program to closely mirror the responsibilities of an entry-level accountant at our firm. Interns gain exposure to all facets of accounting and client services, preparing them for real-world success from day one.

We aim for our interns to complete the program feeling confident and well-equipped for their next step—whether that means continuing their journey with us or pursuing opportunities elsewhere in the industry.

“We are committed to providing a top-notch educational experience when you join our team. We invest in time, training, and continuous performance feedback to keep our interns continuously learning and striving towards success. We understand and value your need for real-life experience, and we are here to provide it and support you.” -Amy Rohlman, HR Director

But don’t just take it from us! We sat down with a few of our recent interns to discuss their experience. Here’s what they had to say…

MRPR Intern Q&A Session

Describe the kind of firm you were looking for in your internship and how MRPR met your requirements.

Brady Heron, Intern for tax season 2026 & upcoming 2027: I was looking for a firm that would expose me to the industry of public accounting. MRPR did that.

Sara Barnes, Intern for 2026: I was looking for a firm that would be accommodating of my class schedule, welcoming, and a place where I would be able to learn and grow. I would say MRPR exceeded those expectations.

Anna May, Intern during tax season 2025 and joined full time in 2025: I was looking for a firm that works with a variety of clients and industries, but is small enough that I won’t have to worry about getting lost in the shuffle.

Allison Bockrath, Intern for tax season 2026 & fall of 2026: I was looking for a firm that would allow a flexible work schedule around school, and MRPR fit that.

In your first few weeks, what stood out to you about the people who worked there?

Natalya Molnar, Intern for 2026 & upcoming tax season 2027: I really enjoy the people at MRPR. Everyone is very nice and kind, and I enjoy the overall work environment. I also enjoy eating lunch together in Saline, I think that is great!

Sara: How approachable everyone was. Whether it was a Staff or Principal, they were always willing to help.

Hallie Ludwig, Intern for tax season 2026 & joined full time in 2026: Everyone was friendly and ready to answer our questions. I asked so many questions and every time someone was right there to help.

Anna: Everyone is approachable and willing to answer questions. I noticed that a lot of people have worked here a long time, which I think is a sign that people are happy in the workplace.

What were your goals for your internship with MRPR and were you able to achieve them?

Natalya: My goals for my first internship with MRPR was to understand the work I was given, and improve my overall understanding and knowledge of the accounting profession. I did achieve these goals, and I will continue to improve as I learn and gain more experience.

Benjamin Mundt, Intern during tax season 2025 and joined full time in 2025: My main goal for this internship was finding a CPA firm that I can invest my time into long term as I work to get my CPA. Brady: My goals were to do every task which was assigned to me to the best of my ability and to make connections with the people I worked along side. I think I was able to achieve them.

What advice would you give someone looking for an accounting internship at MRPR?

Allison: I think it’s a great place to work, especially if you have a scholarship and cannot take off a semester for classes. The people are really friendly and will answer you questions no matter how many you have.

Brady: Be curious and show interest in the profession. You don’t have to be a technical expert just show that you’re willing to learn.

Benjamin: Go for it. MRPR gave me a chance. I’m so glad they did. I have learned so much from when I started.

Natalya: I would tell my friends and family that MRPR is a wonderful firm to work at, where you gain value able experience understanding the accounting profession, and it is also very flexible with work life balance.
