MRPR Named One of the Best Places to Work in Southeast Michigan

For a total of eight years, MRPR has been named one of Crain’s Detroit Business Best Places to Work in Southeast Michigan. Formerly known as Cool Places to Work, the list is created from a research-driven program that examines company practices, programs and benefits, and surveys from our employees for their perspective.

What Makes MRPR a Best Place to Work?

Jim Mathews and Ron Nightingale founded MRPR that focused on helping not just our clients, but our employees achieve their goals. We’re celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, and we couldn’t make it this long without our employees. Since the beginning, we’ve believed that treating our employees right contributes to our success. 

Maintaining a good work-life balance helps employees stay happy and productive. We offer a hybrid work environment so our team can work from home, in the office, or both Our team has the opportunity to work and grow together, even if we are connected through a computer screen! We also have paid time off, flex time, and paid holidays so our employees can spend time with their family and on their hobbies outside of work.

At MRPR, it’s not all work, no play., We keep employee happiness top of mind by hosting company picnics, BBQs, tailgates, and monthly appreciation lunches, get involved in our community through service projects, and set up stress-relieving activities for the team. When our team feels supported, we know they can work to the best of their abilities (especially for the busy season!). 

And we couldn’t do what we do without our interns. Our intern’s work mimics an entry-level accountant position, exposing them to all aspects of accounting so they can determine what type of work they want to do after they graduate. Many of our interns transition to full-time after they graduate, and we manage their workload to allow them plenty of time to study for their CPA exam. Our principals are always there for our interns and entry-level team to provide mentorship and guidance as they grow as a professional.
